Kemin Nutrisurance is seeking a talented and dedicated Sr. Quality Assurance Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for and actively involved in the execution of Quality Management System duties. This position reports to the Quality Control Manager at our Verona, Missouri facility and requires up to 20% local travel within a 50-mile radius.

• Independently lead internal audit(s), report findings, and implement and follow-up on corrective actions to ensure completion. Develop and/or follow internal audit schedule. • Participate in external audits (Customer audits, 3rd Party Audit, Regulatory Audits), with minimal supervision as assigned. • Review Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations and ensure completion. • Review and approve batch records and production records. • Must follow and aid in the creation of procedures and SOPs/forms and assist with updates to the same. Must maintain proper quality documentation. • Review and provide input for customer questionnaires and customer complaints as assigned. • Perform Change Management tasks. • Review raw material, finished goods, and packaging release. • Run reports, provide input, and review specifications as required. • Perform lot tracing and mock recalls. • Perform trend analysis of products and raw materials through SPC charting or similar methodology. • Investigate nonconformities identified through internal audits, customer complaints, or other methods. • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System. • Verify documentation and follow up as assigned. • Evaluate new and existing suppliers, in coordination with R&D and Purchasing as assigned. • Communicate with customers, under guidance. • Maintain and conduct Quality, Food Safety, and other applicable training programs. • Contribute to reporting and deliver internal presentations as assigned. • Must work closely with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.)
• 5+ years of Quality experience, or Bachelor’s Degree (4 year degree) with 3+ years of related experience or Master’s Degree with 1 year of related experience.
• Experience with GFSI Certification (FSSC 22000, BRC, SQF, etc.) • PCQI Certification or experience in a FSMA regulated facility. • HACCP or similar certification. • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and, particularly, Excel. • Experience with Root Cause Analysis methodology preferred. • Must have and maintain an insurable driving record.
