Patterson Companies, Inc. Telephone Sales Rep in St Louis, Missouri

Overview

The purpose of this position is to maintain and increase sales within assigned specified phone sales territories in the Southeastern United States by means of a regular call schedule while functioning as a “No-Travel” Territory Manager. Facilitate interactions with assigned territories in the areas of Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, and Order Processing. Actively solicit potential and inactive accounts to increase and expand territory sales. This is a fully remote work from home position.

Responsibilities

· Make outbound calls as necessary to grow the sales in the portfolio of accounts assigned.

· Solicit new customers and grow existing business by demonstrating Value Added products and services offer by Patterson.

· Cultivate and develop business opportunities within personal account base, vendor partners and assigned account base.

· Execute Sales Promotions, and selling strategies at the account and territory level to deliver revenue and profit goals.

· Support the product education of key vendors and customer personnel through continuing education efforts.

· Achieve prescribed call frequency levels for all customers using a call matrix for each account.

· Complete all assigned call reporting follow-up reports and submit as needed to Branch Manager

· Meet revenue and profit performance and expense management objectives established for position.

· Aptitude in computer programs to develop sales presentation and communication tools (Windows based).

· Communicate customer issues, opportunities and needs to/with the appropriate internal and external personnel.

· Demonstrate excellent problem solving and team-building skills.

· Work with PVS sales personnel as required to facilitate team cohesion.

· Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with customers and team members.

· Interface with key vendor personnel regularly to identify customer needs and suggest solutions.

Working Conditions

Environment Factors:

Office or sales environment

  • Operating a computer or other office device (specify device and hours at a time/per day)

  • Talking or hearing -- position involves frequent communication with (customers, inside staff, etc.) and requires ability to understand and effectively exchange accurate information

  • Reading or sight -- requires frequent review of vendor contracts

Travel and On-Call:

This position requires occasional travel (25%)

For this position being on-call is not required.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· College degree (BS – Marketing/Business/Science) preferred but not required.

· Prior sales/merchandising/customer service experience (3-5 years).

· Prior sales management experience preferred.

· Prior Account call responsibility (2-5 years) preferred.

· Strengths should include interpersonal skills, leadership/coaching skills, communication and customer development.

· Strong organizational skills and high commitment to timely follow-up and issue resolution are essential.
