As a successful Senior Teller, you will:
Coach tellers to welcome members and provide information concerning features and benefits of the credit union’s products and services to meet the member’s financial needs. Set an example for and perform as a teller so that optimum member service may be maintained.
Ensure tellers receive and process member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments, money orders, travelers checks and tickets to members; transfer amount from member accounts as directed.
Promote positive attitudes, cooperation, professionalism, accuracy, efficiency, and desire to offer credit union services in department employees.
Provide member assistance to ensure member satisfaction.
Must be able to accurately order daily cash for the branch, and be able to provide projected cash needs. Keep the branch cash outages within budget limits.
Regularly audit teller activity. Monitor branch security. Keep the ATM operational for optimal member service and balanced by 10 a.m. each morning.
A minimum of six months experience as a teller in a credit union or other financial institution, or other appropriate cash handling experience required
High school diploma or GED is required
Must have a thorough knowledge of credit union products and philosophy
Must have the ability to effectively communicate with members both verbally and in writing
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. This work involves personal contact with others both inside and outside the organization
Must be good with details to deal with numbers and names
Must be able to use a ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch
