Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Ob/Gyn. The position is located at the Center for Outpatient Health. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Position provides specialized patient care and education for patients receiving treatments, examinations, surgeries, dialysis, etc., in a medical office according to established procedures. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family (biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual and environmental); collects and analyzes data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care. 2. Directs and/or provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures, and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice. 3. Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/family regarding disease process and symptom management. 4. Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information. 5. Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes. 6. Demonstrates cost-effective work habits by setting priorities and properly managing supplies and equipment. 7. Assists the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills, and other processes related to direct patient care. 8. Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcome. 9. Professional contributions, including presentations, preceptorships/mentorships, committee participation, community service, inclusion on research or professional publications or local, regional or national professional organization leadership roles. 10. Other duties as outlined in specialty-specific job responsibilities. Required Qualifications * Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least two years of related experience within a clinical specialty; completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the area where working. * Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act; Basic Life Support certification; advanced clinical skills (e.g., PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, Bone Marrow Biopsy) (Please Note: Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements). Preferred Qualifications * OB/GYN and Pediatric/Adolescent GYN experience. * Epic EMR experience is highly preferred. * Can manage heavy patient volume and a variety of clinical and clerical responsibilities. * Ability to provide exceptional patient experiences by phone on a regular basis. * Working knowledge of general nursing theory and practice with ability to recognize and interpret symptoms/conditions and ability to function in new and emergent situations. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $53,706 - $96,674 annually.
