The Water Crew Chief position is responsible to lead teams to provide water mitigation/drying and mold remediation services to homes and businesses. Goal is to restore property to pre-loss condition.

Water damage could include flooding, sewer back up, appliance malfunction and sprinkler head/pipe burst as examples.

Essential Duties:

  • Evaluate property and develop scope of work /manhours/equipment and safety steps necessary to remediate to pre-loss condition

  • Enter scope information into Xactimate software system

  • Complete daily forms including Crew Chief Log

  • Follow scope of work provided by Emergency Services Manager (ESM) Project Manager (PM) or another Crew Chief

  • Ability to question scope of work that is outside normal parameters of process and especially if a safety concern is present

  • Communicate 10-step process clearly to customer and reinforce customer understanding by listening and asking clarifying questions

  • Calculate figures and amounts; measure; price

  • Perform water extraction and pack out of contents

  • Set up and monitoring of drying equipment

  • Deconstruction and removal of affected structure utilizing hand and power tools

  • Remediate mold using standard accepted practices utilizing safety protocol

  • Wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure team is wearing their PPE.

  • Work carefully, and be aware of surroundings

  • Drive to / from worksites safety in Woodard vehicle

  • Participate in morning department "Stand Up" meetings sharing technical and safety knowledge and job specific information

  • Keep on task with or without direct supervision


  • Experience in construction, carpentry, demolition, or in a field with proven use of hand and power tools

  • Leadership experience (team, work related, volunteer)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to cover on call shift to include after hours and weekend. We have two shifts available. First shifts is a two week rotating schedule. Schedule would include 4-10 hours day (8 am to 6:30 pm) rotating schedule: Week One Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri. Week Two Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat. The second available shift is a Monday- Friday 11 am to 8 pm.

  • Ability to obtain class E and DOT certifications

  • Demonstrated customer service experience

  • Ability to successfully complete on-boarding to include pre-employment drug screening and background checks
