Nature of Work
Incumbents in this position are responsible for acting as first-line supervisors, scheduling workers and completing activity reports as well as responding to emergency medical calls as dispatched.

A high school diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) certificate; plus three years of experience as a Paramedic Crew Chief with the City of St. Louis Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
Certification: Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association.
Licenses: Applicants must possess and maintain all of the following while employed by the City of St. Louis: a Missouri EMT-P (Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic) License and a valid driver's license. Applicants who do not possess a Missouri driver's license will be required to present a "Driving Record Check" from their State's Department of Motor Vehicles at the time of the Oral Interview.
Positions require shift, weekend and holiday assignments. Candidates must provide their availability for shift and weekend assignments on the Availability Section of the Employment Application.
Copies of certification and licenses must be submitted at the time of the Oral Interview.
A limited number of applicants may be scheduled for the Oral Interview based on an evaluation of their qualifying education, training and experience as listed on the Employment Application. Include reasons for changes in employers and explain any gaps in employment. Incomplete and/or carelessly completed applications will not be considered. Resumes will not be accepted as a substitute to a fully completed application.
VETERAN'S PREFERENCE POINTS: To be eligible for veteran's preference points, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty with the Employment Application or at the time of the Performance Test. The Director of Personnel may, in his discretion, accept alternate documentation.
