Position:

Director, Population Health Playbook

Position Summary:

Oversees a team and provides strategic direction to the department. Drives optimization of population health initiatives for clients through program development that leads change within a health system or clinical operational setting. Manages the clinical and operational program development process from the early solution definition stage through to deployment. Drives collaboration with numerous stakeholders and subject matter experts. Serves as an effective communication agent to PHSO leadership, external customers, and channel partners for their areas of oversight.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of professionals and people leaders and provides strategic direction. Coaches, mentors, and develops team members. Ensures successful goal setting/review, conducts performance evaluations/corrective actions, manages resource allocation and staffing levels, etc.

  • Manages and improves upon an existing solution development process that includes established stage gates to ensure organizational alignment on business requirements, change concepts and specific tactics required to execute at scale (including deployment strategies to drive successful program or solution implementation).

  • Structures and drives cross-disciplinary work teams as needed to update programs and add new ones to the portfolio.

  • Conducts any required primary or secondary research such as, but not limited to, literature review, focus groups, feedback from priority target segments, or channel partner alignment as required.

  • Defines and develops requirements that provide relevant inputs to technology or technology enablement partners that facilitate a holistic development approach.

  • Reports out on program development status, risks, mitigation strategies on a regular cadence with the Playbook Executive committee comprised of senior leadership.

  • Partners with the analytics and data scientists to establish and evaluate process and outcome measures that are the primary drivers of financial and clinical benefit.

  • Identifies and manages relationships with internal stakeholders across the full program development lifecycle.

  • Maintains playbook prioritization roadmap including key enhancements to existing programs.

  • Collaborates with Education Services and Market Operations teams to develop a knowledge management system architecture capable of facilitating access and version control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Technology or another related field; Master’s Degree or other advanced degree strongly preferred

  • 12+ years of relevant experience (product management, product development, healthcare administration, etc.) and 5+ years of leadership experience

  • Significant experience in consulting environments, healthcare/med-tech solutions, population health solutions or other related industry

  • Comprehensive knowledge of product management, healthcare economics, healthcare market trends, rapidly acquiring information through various sources to make educated judgements

  • Excellent leadership skills with the proven ability to manage, coach, develop, and motivate a large team

  • Strong cross-functional collaborative capabilities with a deep understanding of healthcare landscape

  • Proven ability to partner with clinical, product, operations, and analytics experts to develop solution-oriented programs

  • High-caliber analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the proven ability to identify, develop, communicate, implement, and drive process improvements and strategic initiatives

  • Skilled at developing change management documents & leading healthcare change management within consulting environment

  • Standout communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively influence and drive results at all levels internally and externally

  • Strong creativity and innovation skills with the ability to format for consumption for trainings and deployment of programs

  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies; experience with technology-enabled product development, process improvement or change management initiatives preferred
