The API Office is responsible for the vision, standardization, optimization and stewardship of Enterprise Holdings’ API Marketplace. This highly strategic team collaborates with Product Management, IT, Security, Vendors and Partners, and Executive Leadership to develop and enhance our API Store for use by both internal and external clients. This team plays a key role in increasing the sustainability, scalability and speed-to-market of our products and solutions, as well as creates innovation opportunities for new solutions not yet conceived.

The API Office encourages API first design, microservices architecture and client agnostic capabilities that allow for quick and flexible consumption. Leaders within the team have the opportunity influence our evolving global services strategy.

As the API Office Department Manager, you will collaborate to set the strategic direction for the team, develop and foster the relationship with business leaders and other IT teams, and oversee the development and professional growth of the team members. You will develop a deep understanding of the business objectives across numerous EHI business areas and identify how APIs and the API Marketplace can help achieve those objectives. You will be responsible for negotiating priorities and setting expectations across a wide range of senior business and IT leaders and build consensus on the roadmap for the platform and program. You will also analyze technology and trends in API management so that you may leverage evolving technology and design strategies to best meet our business objectives.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate to set the strategic direction for the API Office in the areas of staffing, products, support and services

  • Operational management of the Office Engagement across funded IT programs ensuring the expecting velocity is achieved and optimal utilization of the staff

  • Collaborate with Business and IT Leaders to drive out priorities for global services initiatives across multiple functional areas of the business spanning multiple programs and projects

  • Provide strategic communications and updates on the API Marketplace initiatives to a broad business and IT audience

  • Gain executive support across multiple disciplines to ensure the API Office is satisfying a broad spectrum of company needs

  • Build, develop, and extend relationships across IT, to ensure the API Office is in alignment with the overall IT strategy and can be leveraged by other IT teams for maximum value

  • Mentor and develop team members of the API Office

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

  • 8 or more years of relevant experience

  • At least 5 years’ proven success leading multiple teams within a large enterprise IT organization

  • Excellent analytical skills as proven through past success creating, implementing and executing transformational strategy

  • Demonstrable knowledge and familiarity with API management concepts and trends

  • Proven leadership, results orientation and self-motivation traits

  • Excellent relationship building skills within the executive landscape

  • Superb communication skills – both written and verbal designed to engage an audience across a broad range of technical expertise and/or business acumen

  • Ability to envision new technologies and solutions

  • High degree of collaboration skills; works well with others as it relates to generating ideas

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly comprehend a broad array of initiatives to direct Project Scope, Requirements Gathering and Change Management to meet changing Business and IT objectives

  • Proven success and high comfort level with presenting at the executive level

  • Knowledge and experience with EHI services across multiple domains

  • Strong skills and experience mentoring and developing IT professionals, to ensure the team’s success and enable the employees to achieve their career goals

  • Proficient knowledge of project management concepts, from planning and inception, through implementation and support

  • Commitment to protecting our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions; ensures security policy and procedure requirements are met; continuously identifies opportunities for improving security and implements strategies to improve our security posture


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field

  • Experience working with an API Gateway Platform such as, Kong, Amazon API
