Position Summary:iThe Welder/Fabricator works in conjunction with other departments to build and repair equipment for the biopharmaceutical industry. The job requires welding stainless steel parts and pieces together to produce custom systems and pressure vessels.i This position also performs related duties as assigned in regards to the fabrication process.iResponsibilities:iWork detail drawings fit-up piece parts: fit, tack and weld piece parts according to detail drawings with components consisting of stainless steel channels, brackets, angles, sheathing, assemblies and sub-assembliesEnsure all dimensions are correct to specified drawingsWeld complete assembly according to specified welding standardsMust be able to make all welds uniform and clean, and complete work to employer's specifications Set-up welding equipment for lays outs, cutting and fit material for weldsAnalyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operationsPolishing and cleaning weld joint of work piecesWelders are required to weld in all position (6G)Must be able to read and have knowledge of weld symbols on blue prints G.T.A.W i Experience with stainless steel 1G-6G positionsAbel to calculate circumferencesFabricate equipment accurately and with proper procedures in a timely mannerStrong attention to detail and accuracy in fabrication processInspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.Knowledge of all types of hand tools, fabricating equipment, measuring devicesNDT/Liquid Penetrate all inside welds on an electro polished vesselsWork on stainless steel fabrication, including but not limited to:Cutting tubeOperate hand grinders PolishingBendingAssemblyOperate overhead crane and/or forkliftPhysically capable of wearing protective eye, ear, and head gear Must be able to stand 8+ hours per dayInspect and maintain proper and safe operation of all shop equipmentConduct operations in a safe mannerWork in a confined spaceWork in hot and cold environmentsRecommend improvementsExecute other tasks as assignedAbility to travel when requiredQualifications:Education: High School Graduate or equivalentWork Experience: Two (2) years previous Fabrication experience preferredOther Requirements:Required to be able to perform simple math equationsMust be able to read a tape measureExcellent problem solving skillsExceptional verbal communication skillsMust be proficient with the use of hand tools and basic fabrication tools.Self-motivatedMust be proficient in reading blue printsNecessary to be able to maintain a clean and safe working environmentAble to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. / 23 kilogramsTypical work is in a manufacturing environment or customer's siteRequired to stand for long periods of time and may involve heavy manual labor.
