Description

Lakeland Behavioral Health System is a proud member of the Acadia Healthcare Family. We are a leading provider of acute inpatient and residential treatment services for children, adolescents, and seniors. Lakeland began solely providing psychiatric services in 1989 and has grown into a 206-bed facility, with patients from across the United States.

We seek an individual to work with patients/guardians to establish financial arrangements for medical services and serve as a resource regarding payments and/or financial matters involving patient accounts.

You will also be responsible for verifying patient’s insurance eligibility and benefits and ensure that patient demographics are accurately entered into the billing system. This includes documenting their account thoroughly in order to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials/penalties from the payer or payees.

Other duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Updating insurance information in patient chart.

  • Work with patients/guardians to establish financial arrangements.

  • Provide information on assistance programs available.

  • Partner with other departments to serve as direct support in regards to insurance eligibility, benefits, claim status and unpaid claim status.

  • Initiate appropriate follow-up and collection calls.
