Great Southern Bank Help Desk Technician I in Springfield, Missouri

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Under general supervision, but following existing policies and procedures as well as all applicable banking laws and regulations including BSA and AML, the Help Desk Technician will provide support to end users on a variety of IT issues. Identify, research, and resolve IT technical problems. Respond to IT client telephone calls and email requests for service. The help desk support technician will document, track and monitor the problems to ensure a timely resolution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Configure, maintain, and support PCs and laptops. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.

  2. Provide help desk support in-person and over the phone. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.

  3. Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot a variety of software and hardware. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  4. Manage email accounts using MS Outlook and mobile devices. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  5. Keep accurate accounting of all computers, computer software, and related equipment. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  6. Troubleshoot remote access issues. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  7. Install and support network printers and copiers. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  8. Setup and troubleshoot mobile devices such as iPhones, BlackBerries, and Androids. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  9. Complete special projects as assigned. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.

  10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Basic understanding of networking technologies and protocols such as basic IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VPN client configuration, Microsoft OS including Windows XP and Windows 7 ,Microsoft tools including Office and Outlook and PC hardware

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server, MTS, A+ certification

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

Intermediate: Alphanumeric Data Entry, Database, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing

Basic: 10-Key, Accounting, Contact Management, Presentation/PowerPoint, Programming Languages

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear; frequently required to walk; and occasionally required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; and color vision.
