Employment Specialist (Justice Reinvestment Initiative)

We are actively seeking an Employment Specialist to provide support and guidance to clients in order to help them on their path to employment.


  • Must have knowledge of the Client’s Rights and ensure the rights are not violated

  • Provide services at times requested by the Program Director, this may include weekend and evening hours

  • Participate in the clinical team meetings in order to identify strengths and needs related to development of the client’s recovery path.

  • Assess clients for vocational strengths and training opportunities.

  • Arrange and refer for services and resources, as well as advocate to ensure the quality of service is up to standard in regards to what the person is entitled.

  • Coordinate and facilitate job skills training's, job search, and coaches for success

  • Have a working knowledge of community twelve-step recovery resources for the client and family members.

  • Monitor services by external providers to ensure communication and coordination of services

  • Provide experimental training in employment skills and resource acquisitions

  • Provide information and education to an individual in accordance with the person’s rehabilitation plan and plan for discharge

  • May be asked to participate in community events, media and committees as deemed necessary by leadership.


Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, nursing or a closely related field.

Equivalent experience may be substituted on the basis of one year for each year of required education.
