Great Southern Bank Business Intelligence Analyst in Springfield, Missouri

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION Responsible for conducting business process analysis, assessing needs, and preliminary cost/benefit analysis in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives for less complex systems. Keeps Business Intelligence Supervisor and Manager informed regarding his/her area of responsibility. Responsible for communication between Business Owners, Technicians, and Project Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assists with conducting studies for utilizing existing and/or implementing new software and hardware systems to meet current and projected business needs. This duty is performed daily, about 35% of the time.

  1. Completes documentation of program functions, and steps required for modifying and/or customizing business software applications to achieve desired results. This duty is performed daily, about 30% of the time.

  2. Completes a wide variety of tasks including external and internal correspondence, reports, forms, and tables. Responsible for preparing Business Analyst documents, preliminary cost/benefit analysis, and quality control standards. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.

  3. Communicates with management, Project Management, vendors, and applicable employees regarding issues on a regular basis and provides status updates as necessary. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.

  4. Once systems are implemented, responsible for providing initial application support queries, training, and problem analysis. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.

  5. Maintains regular and reliable attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Communicates in a clear and efficient manner via various types of correspondence, such as, in person, phone, email, letters, etc. Adheres to all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking rules, regulations, and laws (including BSA/AML).

  6. Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school or GED, plus some college and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative tasks, equipment operation, etc, plus 0 to 12 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in Computer Science, Business or other related field and/or relevant professional experience is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Must possess problem solving and analytical skills and a strong working knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Office applications.
