CPS Overview

U.S. Bank Corporate Payment Systems (CPS) is one of the largest providers of commercial bankcards, payables solutions, fleet cards and freight payments; serving customers in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. We help organizations optimize their cash flow and working capital while providing them with increased control and visibility over the payment process.

As part of the Payments Chief Risk Office (CRO), the Issuing Risk team aligned to Corporate Payment Systems understands, supports, and advocates for the business line objectives and operating routines as they relate to risk and compliance management. This role will:

  • Provide ongoing oversight, coordination, and guidance on both risk and business initiatives to ensure the appropriate level of risk mitigation controls are applied in a suitable manner. Outcomes must meet both compliance and business objective needs.

  • Act in collaboration with other teams within the Payments CRO, CPS, as well as other internal enterprise teams acting with Indirect accountability to hold identified owners accountable.

  • Problem-solve to drive projects forward by removing obstacles that hinder success, ensuring that functional Risk teams have the correct information / understanding of business operations to arrive at a mutually agreeable resolution.

  • Actively track, report, and escalate the progress of key business initiatives impacted by Risk functions.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Five to seven years of experience in an applicable risk management

environment

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication;

process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills.

  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages,

including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets,

databases, and presentations.

  • Strong understanding and experience with risk management frameworks and

methodologies.

  • Possess the business acumen and credibility to help the business line

proactively identify and address policy and regulatory change impacts and

needs.

  • Must possess business acumen and credibility to help business line(s)

  • Strong understanding and experience with risk management frameworks and

methodologies.

  • Experience that demonstrates a working knowledge of key regulatory

requirements within the Banking industry.

  • Advanced knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and

regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business

  • Advanced understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services,

systems, and associated risks/controls

  • Advanced knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
