US Bank Home Mortgage needs a Credit Risk Data Analyst in its Credit Risk Department. This job involves ability to transform data to provide insights. Analytics to enable decisioning is the key. The job analysis of loss forecasting, loss severity, probability of defaults, pre-payments, customer characteristics in addition to analysis of automated decisioning and statistical models. The incorporation of models in determining Portfolio Credit Policy to facilitate digitization, automation and credit risk management using analytics is a key function of this role. Analysis of Credit Bureau Data and customer data resulting in insights is also a key function of this role.
The job also involves using existing reports and data, including credit, collateral and loan characteristics and developing trend analysis from them. Credit Loss Insights involve understanding US Bank Home Mortgage data, Corporate Model(s), utilizing Third Party Models (from vendors such as Moody’s) and developing view(s) and scenario(s) with different economic assumptions. This position will also be involved in the utilization of Production Risk Score, Economic Production Risk Score, Mortgage Risk Score and Behavior Scores.
Downloading and transforming data (ETL) with knowledge of credit bureau, collateral and mortgage application data in addition to economic data and regulations is important in this job. The ability to explain machine learning and artificial intelligence output is preferred.
The individual hired into this role will have a key role in enhancing the competitiveness of US Bank Home Mortgage via credit risk model related analytics. US Bank Mortgage is making key advances in digital mortgage and this is a ground floor opportunity to grow with the institution.
The job reports to the Credit Risk Innovation Leader and has high visibility. The output of this position will include data reports, analysis, model run(s), champion v challenger model run evaluation and other mortgage credit related projects that result in a Monthly Credit Risk Insights Summary.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as econometrics, computer science, engineering or applied mathematics, or equivalent work experience
Four to five years of statistical experience
Master’s Degree in “STEM” field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) plus 1 year of experience in data analytics, or PhD in “STEM” field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
At least 3 years’ experience in Python, Scala, or R
At least 3 years’ experience with machine learning (H2O.ai, Spark, DataRobot, or equivalent tools)
At least 3 years’ experience with SQL
At least 1 year of experience in open source programming languages for large scale data analysis
Understanding of US Consumer Finance preferred
Knowledge of AI/Machine learning/Deep Learning preferred
At least 1 year of experience with relational databases
Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work and/or collaborate with department personnel and other Corporate associates
