The Boeing Company's Ground Support Equipment teams in St. Charles, Missouri have an immediate opening for an Entry Level Software Engineer . This individual will work in a team environment to develop test and repair capability for a wide variety of avionics and/or weapon systems. This organization develops and maintains a wide range Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and analysis tools for numerous aircraft and weapons programs. Our equipment and software is used to support all phases of platform/weapon development: demonstration, production, field support, and depot repair.
System & software requirements analysis and development.
System test requirements analysis and development interface design.
Test software development/coding.
Research of technologies for potential application to company business needs.
Support of problem resolution associated with fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics is required. Concentration in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Physics disciplines preferred.
This position requires the ability to work within a fast paced team environment.
Knowledge and ability to understand and interpret technical data.
Skill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
Knowledge and ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong communication skills are essential as frequent contact with Program Management, internal and external customer representatives, and other development teams and disciplines is required.
Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:
Experience with, software development and simulation tools (e.g. editors, compilers, linkers, desktop simulators, and configuration and requirement management tools), as well as various software languages (C++, C#, etc.).
Knowledge and familiarity with Object Oriented design principles.
Familiarity with lab test equipment (e.g. multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Relevant Information and Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required.
This position offer relocation assistance based on candidate eligibility.
Occasional travel (<10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.
This position is on 1st shift.
