The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Surgical Sales Rep, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Representing and developing 3M Medical Solutions Operating Room business within integrated health systems and independent hospitals in assigned territory
Responsible for driving sales growth through collaborative efforts with other 3M Medical Solutions Division personnel including Clinical Consultants, Technical Consultants, Medical Key Account Managers, Marketing, and distribution partners
Understanding and effectively communicating clinical/business solutions to, Operating Room management, Infection Prevention, Anesthesia, Surgeons, Supply Chain and other relevant key call points
Driving sales growth through customer/product knowledge, ability to identify key opportunities, gain access, and to implement marketing programs.
Using territory analysis and opportunity assessment to create a business plan for growth.
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position (if applicable)
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) combined years of sales and/or work experience in the medical field in a private, public, government or military environment
Experience dealing with GPO contracts, including negotiation and distribution management, IDN management
Current, valid Driver’s license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Clinical, consultative and concept selling skills
Strong organizational, time and project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and teach others
Knows and understands medical terminology, processes and procedures, OR Room etiquette and aseptic technique
Experience calling on Operating Room and PeriOperative Management, Anesthesia, Surgeons, Infection Prevention, Biomed, Supply Chain, Purchasing and other relevant departments
Location: Kansas City, MO
Travel: May include up to 30% domestic
