This position will be located in Kansas City, MO

Job Duties:

  • Provides a broad range of Human Resources (HR) services to internal and external customers.

  • In support of strategic objectives, consults with appropriate personnel as necessary to resolve diverse business issues Acts as a HR liaison to divisional units

  • Using socio-technical theory and systems, implements initiatives in partnership with division leaders in support of the organization's strategic objectives

  • Resolves moderately complex issues related to the interpretation and application of HR programs, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations

  • Provides information and orientation regarding programs and policies

  • Handles a variety of compensation related issues, including development of salary quotes, performing job analyses/evaluations and preparing job descriptions

  • Administers the performance management process and management resource review to ensure compliance with established practices

  • Acts as a point of contact within the grievance process, and leads grievance meetings

  • Counsels and coaches associate and management in addressing interpersonal and behavioral challenges

  • Coordinates and documents disciplinary action with appropriate HR management to ensure consistency

  • Counsels associates in career planning and development to promote a motivated, trained, and competent work force

  • Maintains cognizance of collective bargaining agreements; works with union and management representatives to facilitate resolution of issues

  • Promotes and advances teamwork and continuous process improvements to achieve business unit's objectives and goals

  • Reviews staffing requirements and assists management in identifying qualified job applicants

  • Participates in the reduction in force process

  • Maintains business unit headcount information to be used in HR reporting requirements such as affirmative action planning

  • Creates environment which values diversity

  • Investigates allegations

You Must Have:

  • Minimum of five years Human Resources experience in one or more Human Resources functions

  • Bachelor's degree in business or human resources

  • US Citizenship in order to obtain and maintain U.S. DOE ""Q"" level security clearance

We Value:

  • Certification in Human Resources preferred

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources preferred

  • At least 1 year of HR manufacturing support experience preferred

  • Demonstrated expertise in effective interpersonal skills, including interviewing, counseling, and group presentations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Working knowledge of government laws, regulations, and legal decisions affecting human resources issues

  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, relevant software packages, and where necessary, mainframe applications

  • At least 1 year of experience in a labor environment
