Burns & McDonnell Senior Contract Analyst (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri
Description
Responsibilities include evaluating revenue recognition of specified divisions within the company, reviewing contracts and interpreting financial implications, applying construction/engineering accounting standards, and analyzing project cost reports including risks/contingencies/warranty. Attend monthly project-review meetings and provide recommendations on revenue recognition to project managers and division managers. Responsible for assisting in client-initiated project audits, project-specific financial audits, and the annual financial audit for the company. Serve as the liaison for resolving all accounting related issues as it pertains to assigned contracts- (billing, collections, and accounts payable). Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 6 years public accounting experience (Manager level) or 10 years with public/private mix
History in the accounting/financial management of contracts, specifically in the construction/engineering industry with exposure to construction revenue recognition (percent complete accounting) or software revenue recognition preferred
Must have excellent conflict resolution, client relationship experience and communication skills
Experience with Oracle and Microsoft PowerBI is preferred but not required
CPA preferred but not required
