Interior Specialists Sales Consultant in Kansas City, Missouri

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for sales in a specific regional market, which is kitchens remodeling, refacing, and projects – and the activities that lead to the sale. This includes in-home measurement and selection and sale of the product. Payment processing is part of this role. This role includes sales targets and has regular reporting requirements. This role has no direct reports but does involve collaboration with program leaders and Field support.


  • Sales

  • Responds promptly to sales leads provided by Home Depot;

  • Schedules measures and design consultation with customers on-site, usually in-home

  • Applies program sales process; recommends enhancements where possible

  • Prepares an estimate of expected cost and scope of work

  • Responds to all questions and concerns

  • Concludes the sale, on-site; includes processing payment

  • Sales support

  • Accurately records and captures sales activities

  • Manages work in sale funnel

  • Advises clients of financing options

  • Reviews purchase orders, to ensure that bid is accurate

  • Customer relationship management

  • Establishes rapport with customers and seeks to know what matters to them

  • Delivers ongoing value to relationships with Home Depot associates in stores

  • Enlists others to create a positive customer experience

  • Partners with program leaders


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or commensurate industry experience

  • Sales experience; track record of success with a sales team

  • Well versed in relationship selling and related sales programs

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to connect with a variety of people in ways that create positive outcomes

  • Customer-focused; intent on delighting customers

  • Good attention to detail and accuracy, especially as relates to measurement and calculations

  • Personal leadership skill; ability to function independently while seeking assistance when needed

  • Construction management and building trades experience, a plus

  • Strong problem-solving experience and skill

  • Well organized; experience working with a sales pipeline

  • Adept with Microsoft Office 365

  • Flexibility; some evening and weekend work is needed at times

  • Initiative and ability to learn quickly

Pay Grade:$30,000 plus commissions
