Social Workers at Children's Mercy are an integral part of the health care team. The Department of Social Work provides comprehensive and compassionate family-centered services to children and their families to enhance their quality of life while in the hospital, at home, at school, and within their community.

To identify and intervene with at-risk populations to mitigate psychosocial barriers to optimal care outcomes. Social workers provide services to children, adolescents, and adult patients/families/staff at Children's Mercy and complete comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans in conjunction with internal and external team members.
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Accredited Program
1-2 years’ experience
Social Work License in KS or MO upon hire (if working in KS, must have KS License upon hire. Must be dually licensed in KS AND MO within first 90 days of employment)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker MO, preferred
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Specialist KS, preferred
Ability to work with culturally diverse families with young children required.
Knowledge of children's welfare systems, substance use disorder, infant mental health, and home-based family support preferred.
Minimum typing speed, 35 wpm.
Software Application Skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
