About This Job

As a Commercial Card (CMCD) Account Executive Inside Sales, you will be responsible for generating volume by negotiating interchange rates and early payment terms with suppliers. This role will focus on specialty payments products that typically require a different cost structure and acceptance experience than traditional B2B virtual cards. An Account Executive on the Supplier Enablement Team is critical to the success of our Accounts Payable solutions. Our Supplier Enablement Team has proven the value of an effective enrollment strategy as evidenced by double-digit portfolio growth for our Accounts Payable solutions.

The successful Account Executive will spend greater than 90% of their time prospecting and negotiating with suppliers on behalf of our clients. In some instances, dialogue with a supplier will require significant discussion regarding their accounts receivables; this dialogue will often include topics such invoice terms, discounts, interchange rates, and payment methods. The Account Executive's performance will be measured against challenging but obtainable Standards of Performance monthly.

The ideal candidate will leverage strong business acumen to succeed with a consultative sales strategy, demonstrating confident telephone and the ability to explain processing solutions to unfamiliar audiences. We are looking for a self-motivated, driven, entrepreneurial-minded team player.

This is an Inside Sales position located in Kansas City, MO.

Essential Functions

  • Acquire net new volume or retain existing volume with suppliers through prospecting, targeting existing relationships and leveraging personal portfolio

  • Prepare and conduct outbound calls using a consultative approach to negotiate interchange rates and early payment terms with suppliers

  • Data mining to seek portfolio wide enrollment opportunities

  • Must meet commitments outlined by the CMCD Inside Sales Manager to call assigned referrals and reach sales goals

  • Discuss interchange pricing and make margin and profitability decisions real time

  • Illustrate the significance of proposed pricing to benefit the supplier

  • Ability to take continued learning mindset for creative sales approach.

  • Learn or have experience in using SalesForce.com or another sales focused CRM

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Sales aptitude and prospecting experience

  • Comfortable in dialogue with “C” level executives

  • Effective communicator across multiple forms of media

  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment is essential

  • Professional demeanor and appearance

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to learn quickly and apply discretion and sound judgement to solve problems efficiently and effectively.

  • Carry a working understanding of Card Companies Operating Rules, Regulations, and Interchange requirements as well as various methods of processing

  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

  • Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Education & Experience

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

  • 1-2 years B2B inside sales, prospecting, contract negotiation, or sales support role required

  • 1-2 years of commercial or merchant bankcard in the area of sales or portfolio management preferred
