General: The purpose of this job is to serve as the general manager of a Company retail outlet store, and is responsible for its day-to-day management. The primary focus is to improve the profitability of the store by increasing its sales volume, inventory turnover, controlling shrinkage and maximizing profitability. As such, the general manager develops strategies to improve customer service, to drive store sales and to increase profitability.Essential Job Functions: The primary job functions, as assigned by the supervisor, are as follows: Supervise store employees, overseeing scheduling, assignments, performance reviews, and provide or organize training and development.Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met,Manage and motivate sales associates to increase sales and ensure efficiency.Assure that customer needs are met, complaints are resolved and service is quick and efficient.Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control.Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales volumes to maximize profits.Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning.Use information technology to record sales figures and for data analysis and forward planning.Promote the company and its products locally by liaising with the local community.Organize special promotions, displays and events; determine effective use of allocated advertising funds.Updating sales associates on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues.Tour sales floor regularly, talking to sales associates and customers, and identify or resolve urgent issues.Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding future customer initiatives, and monitoring what local competitors are doing.Initiate changes to improve the business to ensure the store can compete effectively.Such other job functions as requested by the supervisor.
