Boeing Global Services is looking for a L ead Electrical Engineer for Ground Support Equipment, supporting the F-15 and F/A-18 systems
The successful candidate will interface and provide direction or information to multiple disciplines including Management, Procurement, Contracts, Supplier Management, Quality, Shipping, Order Management, and Business Operations. The candidate will lead or participate in weekly/monthly virtual meetings with suppliers to track incoming deliveries and production problems. The candidate will interface directly with the customer (USN, USAF, USMC, and USA) and their representatives (DGAR and DCMA). The candidate will provide detailed reports regarding production progress, delivery metrics, shipping locations, issues and resolutions.
Initiates and directs proposal preparation and new business development efforts for new and existing support equipment
Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of development and production efforts
Provides real-time operational support and technical expertise in the testing and troubleshooting of a variety of electrical systems
The support equipment engineering team designs, acquires, coordinates set-up, and provides training and test procedures needed to successfully overhaul and repairs systems
Must have the ability to work multiple jobs simultaneously while maintaining a high level of detail
Takes ownership of problems and find resolution for our customers.
Some level of travel will be expected
Supports or leads the development and production of large scale, complex electrical, mechanical and optical systems including laser eye safe modules and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design
Supports new and existing design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development and production effort
Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
Serves as technical consultant for disposition, corrective actions and coordination with cross-functional groups to identify/implement solutions and drive strategic improvements relative to production processes
Coaches and mentors others
Works under consultative direction
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
10+ years of Engineering, Leadership and Mentoring experience
Must have experience working with military aircraft
(preferably F-15 and F/A-18 knowledge)
Must have experience with proposals and estimates
Must possess good organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
Must have demonstrated a strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned work with a history of meeting commitments
Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events
Highly motivated and must work well in a team or individual environment as needed.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation
