Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Co-Op candidate to join our Clin. Ops. /R&D department located at our Fulton, MO, Missouri Research Center (MRC) facility. As an Co-Op, you will report to the Team Leader in charge of Animal Care. You will provide daily care and socialization for a variety of animal species to ensure compliance with state, federal, and corporate animal welfare regulations and policies. You will assist with animal procedures, such as, physical examinations and sample collection in accordance with GLP/GCP guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for routine husbandry and care of research animals including feeding, handling, cage/pen sanitation, and socialization.
• Assist with necropsy procedures and animal disposition.
• Monitor supply and equipment needs and coordinate acquisition with team leader.
• Become familiar with all research performed on-site. Record study data in compliance with GLP/GCP guidelines.
• Inspect all animal housing areas for sanitation, proper operation of mechanical equipment and condition of the enclosures to ensure compliance with state, federal, and corporate animal welfare regulations, guidelines and policies.
Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.
Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).
Major must be related to the field of internship.
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
• Associates degree or equivalent training (1-3 years of experience).
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in standing position for an extended duration ( 2 hrs.) with periodic breaks.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
