Maritz Product Owner / Business Analyst in Fenton, Missouri

The selected individual will work independently to create appropriate project documentation and manage change throughout the life of the project. Responsible for requirements gathering and establishing the technical vision for assigned projects. Additionally, write requirements for medium-sized changes to existing client programs and existing or new product offerings. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand overall roadmap as determined by Product Manager/Business Partners/IT Manager.

  • Collaborate with business partners to gather and write clear and concise requirements needed to create epics, features, stories, etc.

  • Leads grooming sessions and compile what comes out of those discussions into a clear, concise, comprehensive ticket, that a developer can utilize during development.

  • Create and maintain product backlog. This may consist of maintaining and monitoring multiple workstreams.

  • Contributes to the planning, execution and review of sprints.

  • Assist QA team with testing and story validation.

  • Guide and mentor team members on how to use Agile/Scrum/Kanban best practices, values and principals.

  • Facilitate scrum, grooming and planning meetings.

  • Identify blockers and work to remove them so development can move forward.

  • Write and maintain release notes.

  • Facilitate training for QA and business partners of upcoming items getting ready to release.

  • Collaborate with business partners and IT Manager to create training materials when appropriate.

  • Collaborate with IT Manager on release management.

  • Works closely with Product Manager/Business Partners/IT Manager to ensure product aligns with company mission and goals.

  • Become go-to expert on how the platform works and give instruction as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with the process of software development SaaS required

  • Experienced professional with Scrum, Agile AND Kanban frameworks required

  • Bachelor’s (BA or BS) in business, computer science, or related field

  • 5+ years previous experience as a product owner, business/product analyst, or in a related field supporting Agile Software Development

  • Experience with Jira software preferred

  • Highly organized; Multi-tasking is a must

  • Strategic thinker with strong problem solving skills

  • Strong written and presentation skills

  • In-depth understanding of Agile and Kanban methodologies, technical understanding of products, and up-to-date on industry standards and best practices

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

  • Comfortable working with multiple teams, in-house and remote

  • This person needs to be a self-starter who can work independently but is also open and able to take direction from others
