Oracle Software Developer 5 in Chesterfield, Missouri

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience. This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado. We are seeking a senior developer who has a proven track record of solving complex enterprise business problems. You will be a technical leader for a product area that is critical to the success of the entire product suite. Some of the biggest brands on the planet will be relying on you to give them the customer service data they need where and when they need it. The Service Cloud development teams are in the early stages of deploying cloud-native micro-services into production. This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on the technical direction of the product. Responsibilities * You will define and implement key modules of Oracle Service Cloud. * You will evaluate and select technologies that allow us to serve data and analytics to large customers across the globe. * You will have the opportunity to show your leadership through writing well-crafted specifications, leading dynamic discussions with colleagues, and demonstrating cutting-edge software prototypes to Oracle senior management. * Your prior experience in data pipelines, reporting and analytics will be heavily leveraged to make future tactical and strategic decisions for designing and implementing sophisticated features. * You will work with engineering management, product manager(s), engineering technical leads and other software development teams to align on design, APIs and delivery dates. * You will mentor other members of the development teams and work with them to ensure they produce code of the highest quality. * You will own the full lifecycle of the applications you develop. Skills and Background * Expert level knowledge of Java * Strong Experience with SQL, MySQL and Oracle RDBMS * Experience developing data pipelines with Apache Kafka * Experience deploying applications in Kubernetes with Helm * Expansive knowledge of issues related to scalable, fault-tolerant architectures. * Thorough understanding of micro-services. * Experience with breaking up a monolith. * Experience with devops tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. * Experience in agile development methodology. * Experience with automated test frameworks at the unit, integration and acceptance levels. * Use of source code management systems such as git. * Use of build tools like gradle and maven. * Use of pipeline tools such as Jenkins and gitlab-ci.
