Plant Health Analyst Scientist II
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Plant Health Analyst Scientist II, are to:
Design statistically powerful experiments on topics such as pollen quality, seed viability, and flower induction;
Analyze the results of a variety of plant health and physiology projects independently;
Develop and implement research and/or technology-driven insights;
Be the primary author for scientific reports;
Communicate, effectively, research findings;
Assume, possibly, project leadership and/or supervisory functions;
Solve complex problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning and the application of scientific principles to the design and interpretation of scientific experiments;
Use specialized knowledge, the broad application of scientific principles and current literature to advance projects, experiments and/or process improvements;
Use digital tools to aggregate and connect diverse data sources to understand how environmental data influences success in order to drive improvements and create predictive metrics;
Drive data fluency, data tool creation and adoption across the team;
Collaborate across diverse teams to identify opportunities and solve problems;
Communicate and interpret, effectively, the results of experiments, production key performance indicators (KPIs), cost/benefit analysis, and CE related issues to partners and key stakeholders;
Partner strategically with the Plant Health team to lead sustainability;
Thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and possess the ability to build productive external and internal relationships;
Demonstrate a sustained high level of technical skill and achievement;
Keep abreast of new science and technological develops and exploit them to continuously improve functional area capabilities;

Adhere to established protocols and techniques;
Operate and troubleshoot instrumentation (possibly);
Solve problems autonomously using multiple data sources.
WHO YOU ARE
Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Bachelor’s degree with at least seven years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience or Ph.D. with at least three years of relevant experience;
Strong data analysis acumen with the ability to independently design statistically powerful experiments and lead data-based decisions and improvements;
Proficiency with data analysis, aggregation and visualization tools such as R, SAS, Spotfire, etc.;
Plant science, agriculture, or horticultural experience with aptitude for identifying, communicating, tracking, and troubleshooting plant health variables.
