Clean Technologies is a business unit of DuPont de Nemours, Inc. and is a global leader in sustainable process technologies that serves a diverse set of large and small customers across multiple large and growing end markets: Oil & Gas, Phosphate Fertilizer, Non-ferrous Metals and General Chemicals. Clean Technologies provides technology, plant design, proprietary equipment and catalysts, and full-service support during plant commissioning/startup and throughout the life of customer plants.

The Rotation Engineer program is a key component in the Clean Technologies initiative to drive values for continued success including: customer satisfaction, speed, efficiency, and building a can-do culture universally throughout our organization.

This rotation will begin in the Acid Licensing Team and report to the Acid Licensing Leader during a 18-24-month assignment. After this assignment, the Rotation Engineer will move into 2-3 subsequent rotations, to include Technical Service, Engineering, and Products.

The Global Proposal Engineer is responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy and on-time delivery of licensed technology proposals to prospective customers. At times, this role must be able to effectively prioritize numerous customer requests to optimize business results. The person in this role is expected to work with minimal supervision. Excellent commercial and technical understanding of MECS processes and products is needed to succeed long term in the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of complete, accurate and on-time customer proposals and price estimates.

  • Provide strategic and commercial support to world regions for various MECS technologies as defined by Licensing Managers.

  • Serve as point of communication between regional sales managers (BDMs) and the home office.

  • Support sales effort with timely response to technical and commercial questions from clients on multiple product lines.

  • Work collaboratively with regional BDMs and Licensing Managers to set strategy for each technology licensing opportunity.

  • Provide support to regional BDMs and Licensing Managers during contract negotiations.

  • Able to work with a variable time schedule to accommodate communication with a global team across multiple international time zones

  • Interface directly with customers to support sales effort.

  • Upkeep of data within Epicor ERP System regarding opportunities, sales orders, projects, etc.


  • Completion of a 4-year Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degree.

  • Strong organization skills, as position manages several proposals at a time.

  • Strong communication skills to clearly direct and manage relationships with customers, business development managers, and internal teams.

  • Technically competent as to be conversant with team, business development managers, and clients but does not need to be a technical expert.

  • Knowledge of the customer and market is required to understand the customer needs.

  • Ability and interest in world-wide travel (15% expected).
