Description

Day ShiftTo provide staff development including orientation, continuing education and competency validation for all hospital employees and studentsBegin

  • Plans and provides housewide and student orientation and continuing education programs.

  • Validates competency of employees

  • Responsible for a number of training duties including one-on-one training for new employees,

  • Acclimate employees who are moving from one job description or area to another and assist with updating employees on any new skills that may be required for their position.

  • Deliver compelling presentations and programs to enhance the skills of newly hired and current employees

  • Student placement coordination

  • Responsible for the planning, coordinating and implementing of high-quality, timely, educational programs and events

  • Devise curriculum, teach various skills, principles and practices required for the course, issue testing and sometimes certificates of completion

  • Competent in managing multiple roles and projects in both short term and long range planning, in collaboration within and outside hospital and is detail oriented

  • Conducts training needs assessment by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, work flow, and reports; understanding job-specific functions and tasks

  • Organizes new product training, maintains paperwork and keeps accurate records.

  • May serve on house-wide committees

  • Program and utilize simulators for training

  • Provide exceptional service, quality, and on-going communication to all staff and administration

  • Assist other Staff Development Specialists when needed

  • Keeps information confidential

  • Maintains excellent computer skills. Functions proficiently use of Microsoft Office Suite. Able to operate multiple software programs, such as Exitcare, LMS and electronic medical record

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Become

  • Registered professional nurse licensed by the state of Missouri

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Nursing and two years of staff nursing experience with clinical competence

  • Will accept ADN with expectation that BSN will be in progress within two years

  • CPR Instructor required within six months

  • ACLS / PALS Instructor preferred

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
