Day ShiftThis position, reporting to the System Controller, is accountable for leading the Finance and Decision Support teams in managing the analytical and reporting function of SoutheastHEALTH. This position will work with all departments of the system to plan and manage their budgets, analyze performance, and evaluate new business proposalsBegin

  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

  • Analysis of service line profitability and preparation of standard quarterly reports

  • Monthly analysis on revenue, expense, and statistical variances

  • Creation and maintenance of standard and ad hoc reports

  • Continual improvement and automation of system data gathering and reporting

  • Provide analytical support to all departments of the hospital, including Managed Care

  • Use available resources (Missouri Hospital Association, HFMA, etc.) to develop business intelligence which can be used to support strategic operations

  • Coordinate the organization’s annual operating, capital and cash budgets along with subsequent forecasts

  • Oversee cost benefit analysis on all major capital expenditures or system initiatives and provide recommendations as required

  • Assists service line managers, cost center managers and other members of the management team in analyzing and effectively using standard reports

  • Recruitment, development, and management of staff

  • Oversee completion of Ad hoc or standard reporting as requested by the System Controller or other members of management

  • Oversight of decision support function

  • Maintains compliance with principles of accepted employee conduct.

  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards

  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise

  • Conducts and assists in the preparation of managerial financial analysis educational sessions as assigned

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested


  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in healthcare setting

  • Expert knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and costing methodologies, service line profitability analysis and physician revenue modeling

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and strict project deadlines

  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA preferred. CMA or CPA a plus

  • Expert level knowledge of EPSI required

  • Experience with Lawson and Sorian desired

  • Proficiency with Excel required

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
