Day ShiftThe development officer is responsible for implementing the comprehensive development program for both short term and long range giving. The officer is a frontline fundraiser who is responsible for increasing the total number of gifts from individuals, corporate donors, and other relationship-building opportunities to fulfill the overall fundraising goals and future needs of the foundationBegin

Donor Prospecting:

  • Work closely with associates in planning and implementing fundraising strategies

  • Remain abreast of fundraising trends and strategies

  • Identify prospective individual, foundation and corporate contributors

  • develop, Organize, planning, and execution of foundation events as assigned

  • Prioritize prospects to maximize solicitation efforts

Donor Solicitation:

  • Solicitation of foundation supporters utilizing multiple development strategies

  • Prepare appropriate activities reports for presentation to meet and ensure fiduciary accountability

  • Conduct assessment on a regular basis of activities to maximize and evaluate efforts

Donor Stewardship:

  • Conduct appropriate stewardship communication and activities to acknowledge donor support

  • Maintain strict donor confidentiality

  • Conduct all foundation business according to the donor bill of rights

Human Resource Management:

  • Recruit, coordinate and supervise volunteers as needed to assist with events and programs

  • Ensure that volunteers are being fully utilized and engaged appropriately

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Become

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook Express

  • Knowledge of donor research methodology

  • Knowledge of fundraising concepts and techniques

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage and coordinate several projects simultaneously

  • and efficiently

  • Possess and utilize strong interpersonal / human relations skills

  • Team player who takes initiative, is attentive to detail, and is creative

  • Can easily work independently and as a team member

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral, and must be comfortable with requests to

  • donors and stakeholders

  • Strong analytical skills to create and evaluate spreadsheets, as well as evaluation abilities to

  • research and prioritize information

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
