Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas eCommerce Shipping Clerk in Blue Springs, Missouri

Essential Functions

  • Identify items tagged for shipment.

  • Locate boxes and packing material appropriate for the item being shipped.

  • Package and seal items, preventing damage to merchandise.

  • Weigh item, ensuring correct postage based on weight and dimensions.

  • Create address labels, postage stickers and insure the package contents with designated UPS/USPS software

  • Ensure the item is shipped in a timely manner.

  • All other duties as assigned by the eCommerce Shipping Supervisor.

Work Environment

This job operates in a retail environment with merchandise displays and items available for purchase in inventory.

Physical Demand

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel

This is a non-exempt position. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the business which may include nights, weekends and holidays.

eCommerce Shipping Clerk will be a proven leader with the following:

  • Experienced in support environments.

  • Must be able to multi-task and work both rapidly and efficiently.

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.

  • Fundamental computer skills using software designed for postage and shipping related activities.
